I’ll be the first to admit that I am a sucker for the change of seasons. Not only is it nice to see a change of color while looking out my kitchen window, but I like most of you

can not help but be consumed by all of the delicious fall treats that start to cycle through the aroma’s all around us. Online Creativity can be cultivated off the paper to the kitchen. Whether that artist within each of us typically chooses to use a pencil or paintbrush instead of a mixer and spatula, this D.I.Y recipe is a simple and fun activity you can do with your friends or family of any age to start to feel a bit more comfortable exploring the art of food.

One flavor in particular this season that jolts out of my taste buds is PUMPKIN. Anyone who knows me can attest to my dear love for this vegetable and all the joys that it can bring to a pie, soup, latte, blizzard, syrup, donut, muffin, oatmeal, and literally anything with cream cheese frosting.

Thank goodness I’m sipping on a pumpkin spice latte as typing this to keep my cravings under control.

While sifting through the multiple posts, pins, tweets, and recipes revolving around this delectable orange ball of flavor, I came across a quick and simple pumpkin spice party mix recipe that sounded like a great snack to keep out as the fall season starts to hit. Take a gander at these simple steps to make it for yourself and maybe share with a neighbor.

First you’ll want to gather the following ingredients.

  • 1 box (13.5 oz) Cinnamon Chex Cereal
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dried cranberry (or cranberry trail mix)
  • 1 cup roasted and salted pumpkin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, divided.

1. In a large bowl combine Cinnamon Chex Cereal, cranberries and pumpkin seeds. Set aside.

2. In a double broiler or microwave carefully melt the white chocolate. Add the pumpkin pie spice until fully incorporated.

3. Pour the white chocolate mix over the Chex cereal and fold it into the cereal, fruit, and seeds until all are covered evenly.

4. Divide the powdered sugar between 2 large bags. Add half of the cereal to each bag. Shake until the powdered sugar fully coats the cereal.

Lay on a baking sheet to dry.
